1- I met a Turkish girl here yesterday. She was working for an NGO in Turkey which is dealing with refugee issues. She said that each month, there are hundreds of Iranians who call that NGO and ask for the possibility of being sent to Canada or US. When I asked her what are their reasons to do that, she said: "There are five groups. Some are political dissidents, some are gays or lesbians, some are afraid of being punished by Iranian courts because of having sexual relationships before marriage, some are under the threat of being killed due to tribal battles, and some are pornographers!"
I think there is much to do on these cases. Also she added that most of those who are deported to their own country, would be killed. Sudanese refugees are the most notorious ones. And the Turkish government cannot do anything for them because of the lack of money and infrastructure.
2- There are many stupid questions that I am always being asked about the situation of Iran. Somebody asked me the other day that is smoking allowed in your country or not?! And I have to say many things in response. But I'll have a presentation on September 30th about the current events in Iran, and that would probably help a lot.
3- Tomorrow is Qods day. I am searching for any possible demonstration here in Budapest. That would be great if I find. If not, I will go in front of Iranian embassy tomorrow morning.
That's it for today.
